B&C Morning Show: Knicks Put Nets In Their Place; Ichiro’s Back!
Carmelo Anthony went off for 45 points Tuesday night as the Knickerbockers kept rolling along, defeating the Nets 100-97 in Brooklyn. After falling behind by 17 early, the Knicks got a late three-pointer courtesy of Jason Kidd, who turned back the clock against his old team, finishing with 18 points, six rebounds and six assists.
With the win the Knicks are 16-5, while the Nets dropped to 11-9 and have lost their last five. Craig showed very little respect for the Nets while opening up today’s radio program, saying ‘call me when you’re relevant’ when talking about Avery Johnson’s bunch.
Boomer chose to praise the Knicks, specifically Carmelo and Kidd, rather than point out the deficiencies of the team that resides in Brooklyn — although he did say Nets fans must be a little frustrated with their team’s inconsistency.
While discussing last night’s action on the hardwood, Craig got some BREAKING NEWS and was good enough to share it. Ichiro will be back with the Bombers — further details to follow. The Yanks are also close to officially finalizing Kevin Youkilis on a one-year, $12 million deal. That all means Josh Hamilton will wind up in Japan, according to Craig.
In other baseball news, at the Mets’ holiday party, R.A. Dickey aired his grievances about the team’s reported $25 million offer, insinuating that he feels slighted.
So the guys had a lot to get to, four hours to do so, and that’s how it all began…
