Isiah Thomas To Join NBA TV As Studio Analyst; Debut Friday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas will join NBA TV as a studio analyst.

Thomas will debut Friday and make several appearances a month. He'll also be a regular contributor to NBA.com.

He tweeted Wednesday: "I'm very excited to be joining NBA TV & look forward to sharing my insights with the fans on the game that I have played, followed and love."

The 12-time All-Star point guard led the Detroit Pistons to two NBA titles.

He's more recently remembered for his high-profile and largely panned stint running the Knicks, who failed to win a playoff game with Thomas as coach or president. His tenure was marked by big contracts for marginal players, the acquisitions of Stephon Marbury and Eddy Curry and the Anucha Browne Sanders sexual harassment scandal.

Thomas coached in college at Florida International for three seasons before being fired in April with a record of 26-65.
