Nation Reaches Out To Help Newtown Come Back From Massacre
HARTFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - In the week since the horrific school massacre, a generous outpouring of offers to help have been pouring into Newtown from all over the country.

People want to do whatever they can to help ease the pain.
"We've had calls from people who are experts in trauma, specifically around children, who want to come and volunteer, want to be available as counselors and for some of the deep therapy that's going to have to happen with a lot of these kids," said David Deschenes of the United Way in Connecticut.
Free meals have been sent in. Others have called with offers to stage fundraisers.
Some want to help build a new school for the students of Sandy Hook Elementary school.
One woman called to say her child wanted to sell her artwork to raise money.
A man from Louisiana ordered $19,000 worth of toys to be delivered to the children of Newtown.
Still others have asked their friends and family to donate to the Newtown fund in lieu of holiday gifts.
