NORTH BABYLON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Fire investigators in Suffolk County were trying to determine the cause Tuesday night of a fire that killed a 61-year-old man the night before.

The fire broke out around 10 p.m. Monday in a home on Peacock Lane in North Babylon, authorities said.

Authorities said a neighbor called 911 to report the fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and found the body of the homeowner, Raymond Frank, inside near the front door.

Frank was pronounced dead, and his body was sent to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Homicide and arson detectives were investigating at the scene Tuesday.
