Report: Jets Ask For Permission To Speak With Dave Caldwell

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Woody Johnson and the New York Jets continue their search to replace fired general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

According to Jay Glazer of FoxSports, the Jets have contacted the Atlanta Falcons to ask for permission to speak with Dave Caldwell, their director of player personnel.

The Jets have also been given permission to talk with San Francisco 49ers Tom Gamble and Marc Ross of the New York Giants.

Gamble is the director of player personnel for the 49ers and Ross is the director of college scouting for the Giants.

Brian Costello of the New York Post tweeted, the Jets will interview assistant general manager Scott Cohen to replace his boss.

Earlier this week the Jets reached out to Bill Polian, who has a record of turning around franchises with the Colts, Bills and Panthers. Polian reportedly turned down the offer to speak the Jets about the general manager opening.

Do you think the Jets should interview Scott Cohen or go in a different direction? Let us know below.
