Victims Identified In Deadly Bronx Fire, No Criminality Suspected As Investigation Continues

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Fire officials say three people died and three others suffered minor injuries in an overnight fire at an apartment building in the Bronx.

The fast-moving fire broke out at 733 Beach Ave at 5:42 a.m. Monday and was brought under control around 7:20 a.m. Fire officials say all three floors were involved and part of the roof collapsed.

Annetta Isaac, 71, John Debro, 73, and Jahvonte Smith, 12, were killed in the blaze.

The blaze was being investigated, but no criminality was suspected. The cause is also under investigation, but witnesses reported the smell of gas before the fire.

The three tenants who were injured were taken to Jacobi Hospital for treatment.
