Homicide Investigation In 4-Year-Old Boy's Death In Amityville

AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A 4-year-old boy died Wednesday in Amityville, Long Island, and police have launched a homicide investigation.

Suffolk County police detectives told CBS 2 they had launched a homicide investigation in the death of the unidentified child, who was pronounced dead Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, authorities said.

A 911 call alerted police that the boy was involved in an "accident" inside the home, police said.

The Suffolk County Homicide Squad responded to the boy's family's home on Ketcham Avenue.

At least one adult at home at the time was being questioned Wednesday night, police said. No arrests had been made.
