NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A New York City police officer was arrested Wednesday, reportedly on charges that he falsely accused a man of drug dealing in a public housing development in West Harlem.

Officer Isaias Alicea, 28, was arrested around 9:20 a.m. Wednesday the 5th Precinct, which includes Chinatown and Little Italy, and charged with 10 counts of offering a false instrument for filing and two counts of official misconduct.

Police did not release additional details. But DNAInfo reported the seven-year veteran NYPD officer was on patrol in the Manhattanville Houses public housing development, and arrested two men in the lobby of the building at 545 W. 126th St.

Alicea also searched one of the men's mailboxes, the publication reported.

Afterward, Alicea filed paperwork claiming that he witnessed one of the men selling drugs to the other, but video surveillance showed the men actually had no conduct, the publication reported.
