NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Authorities discovered a dead body following a fire in a Queens garage early Saturday.

At 12:58 a.m. Saturday, police came to the home at 103-41 120th St. in the South Richmond Hill section of Queens, where a detached garage was on fire.

Once firefighters put out the blaze, an unidentified body was found inside with severe burns. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death for the victim, police said. Information about the victim’s identity, age and gender was not released.

The Fire Marshal was investigating the cause of the fire Saturday morning.
