Suffolk County Man Shot Dead By Armed Intruders

FLANDERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Suffolk County man was shot and killed in his home after armed men broke in early Sunday.

Southampton Town police were dispatched to 200 Priscilla Ave. in Flanders at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, after a 911 call reporting that armed men had broken in and shot someone inside.

Police on the scene found Demitri Hampton, 21, who lives in the home, with a gunshot wound to his chest at the scene.

Hampton was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
