Neighbors said they were married and had three grown children.

"The mystery. So sad. The wife was very friendly with everybody in the neighborhood. It's shocking," a neighbor named Wiletta told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs.

The initial call to the home came in on Monday evening as a possible gas leak at 171 Sussex Road, but homicide detectives have confirmed there was no gas leak. The investigation is continuing.
