Mets Sign RHP LaTroy Hawkins To Minor League Deal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Mets hope 40-year-old LaTroy Hawkins can add some depth to their bullpen.

The team announced Thursday they have signed the veteran right-hander to a minor league contract.

The deal comes with an invitation to spring training.

Hawkins has gone 65-88 with a 4.45 ERA in 18 seasons. He had a 3.64 ERA in 42 innings for the Los Angeles Angels in 2012.

The Mets are still in the market for additional bullpen help, according to WFAN and baseball insider Jon Heyman.
