NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – After his release from the Giants last week, running back Ahmad Bradshaw left a “door open” for a possible return to Big Blue.
It seems he also has an eye on the Giants’ co-tenants at MetLife Stadium.
“The New York Jets is a team that I’m excited to hear about, just to stay home, not to make a big move from New York,” Bradshaw said Tuesday on the NFL Network. “It’s just right across the street from where I am now.”
If healthy and at the right price, the 26-year-old might be a good option for the Jets, who struggled to get anything going offensively in 2012. Shonn Greene could be a goner in free agency, opening the door for younger backs Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight — or a guy like Bradshaw.
Bradshaw, defensive tackle Chris Canty and linebacker Michael Boley were cut by the Giants last week in salary-saving moves.
“In playing with the Giants, they had mentioned that there was a chance for me to come back. And I’m always up for that,” Bradshaw said. “Just whatever, whoever needs me, whoever can use me. Whoever that I feel that I can get a better chance of playing and helping which team.”
Bradshaw was New York’s leading rusher for the past three seasons, though he has been hampered by a laundry-list of woes, including injuries to both ankles and both feet.
