B&C Morning Show: Jerry Recco Updates Us

Craig was very much looking forward to watching his buddy Jon Stewart interview baseball player-turned author Mike Piazza on "The Daily Show" yesterday, only to be let down in a big way. After expressing his disappointment in Stewart, Craig asked Jerry Recco for his outlook on the Yanks, and the update maven was happy to say that he doesn't expect much at all.

Keeping the Yankees talk going, Jerry began his first update of the morning with a report from Tampa, as pitchers and catchers reported to spring training yesterday. Joe Girardi believes he has a team that can not only win 95 games, but also win the World Series. As for Alex Rodriguez, Girardi is just focusing on getting his third baseman healthy.

Pitchers and catchers also reported to Port St. Lucie, as the Mets' spring training got under way.  As for skipper Terry Collins, he was asked about the likelihood that his "ace", Johan Santana, will compete in the World Baseball Classic. When answering, he made it clear that he is in midseason form.  The same could be said about closer Frank Francisco, who has been shut down with an arm injury.

Plus, the Rangers get a "dirty road win" in Boston -- despite blowing a 3-0 lead -- besting the Bruins, 4-3, in a shootout. The Devils lose, 4-2, to the Hurricanes, snapping their five-game winning streak, LeBron James has a record-breaking performance in a Heat win, Kobe Bryant is held to just four points and Stony Book has "that kid."
