Dating Coach In High Demand For Valentine's Day

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Some of those looking for love this Valentine's Day are seeking professional help and are paying a dating coach to improve the odds they're not alone this holiday.

Indeed, this week, dating coach Tracey Steinberg is in high demand.

"My phone has been ringing off the hook," Steinberg said.

As CBS 2's Jessica Schneider reported the night before the day of love and affection, Steinberg is a professional dateologist with an ever-increasing client base.

Shelley Hainer, 61, has never been married, and she just recently sought out Steinberg to help her find true love.

"It's thrilling to take that leap and try something different," Hainer said.

Steinberg provides coaching and flirting lessons. In typical teaching fashion, there is even homework.

"One of the first assignments I give all of my clients is to say 'hi' to five attractive people per day," Steinberg said.

And Steinberg has some dating tips for all of those who are looking for love this Valentine's Day.

"My number one tip, keep your eyes peeled wherever you are. My number two tip is to always look good; look your best. My number three tip is when you're talking with someone, always treat them like royalty," Steinberg said.

And if you're still single, can you still get a date for Valentine's Day, hours away?

"Absolutely," Steinberg said. "This is New York City. This is the best city for singles."

Steinberg has a bachelor's of psychology and is a licensed attorney in New York City. Her Web site said she is trained as a life coach, and has advanced training in dating coaching.

Steinberg's services range from $95 for group flirting to nearly $3,000 for one-on-one coaching sessions.
