Bronx Zoo Wants You To Name A Cockroach For Valentine's Day
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - "Roses are red, violets are blue. Name a roach for your Valentine, courtesy of the Bronx Zoo."
That's their message today. For $10, you can name one of their 58,000 brown, iridescent Madagascar hissing roaches for your loved one.
You'll get a certificate of honor and the Wildlife Conservation Society says the money helps them to "conserve species big and small, beautiful and damned."
They say that the purchase "shows that you've noticed how resilient, resourceful, and loyal that person is."
