Unscientific Survey: Long Island Women Want Jewelry For Valentine's Day
COMMACK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - What do women really want for Valentine's Day? WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs conducted an absolutely unscientific survey on this day of love.
One woman said to him, "You know."
Yes, the men do know. It's jewelry.
"Jewelry. I love diamonds. What girl doesn't?" she said.
Long Islanders Sound Off On Valentine's Day
What about romance?
"You know what, we have a lot of kids and I can't pick it on one day," she said. "We'll save that for the anniversary."
But that was most, not all women.
Bobbie from Northport said simple was best.
"A card and a dinner," she said, noting that a gift was not necessary. "The card is more important."
What about the guys?
"He'd want to just be able watch a Yankee game," kidded Gina from Commack.
All kidding aside, she said a hug, a kiss, and knowing you're appreciated is enough for her.
Most of the guys Xirinachs spoke to wanted their favorite home-cooked meal.
