2 In The Kitchen: Restaurant Rebound After Sandy
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Nearly four months after superstorm Sandy, many businesses are struggling to make it. Kelly Ryan, owner of The Boondocks Fishery in Red Bank, stopped by the CBS 2 studios. Their kitchen was flooded with over five feet of water, destroying everything. A 500 pound ice machine was blown right off the restaurant's deck and into the river. Doors were ripped off of their hinges, with the doors and the river smashing everything inside. Once the waters receded a toxic sludge of mud, gasoline and oil contaminated everything left behind. They threw everything out. They hope to open by May 15.
