EAST PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Suffolk County police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed in East Patchogue Sunday night.

According to police, Jose R. Fuentes, 39, of East Patchogue was killed as he was crossing East Main Street and Conklin Avenue at around 8 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, Jeremiah Day, 25, of Wyandanch was not injured in the incident.

Day’s 2005 Nissan Maxima was impounded for a safety check as the investigation continues. No arrests have been made in the incident, according to police.
