Report: Knicks, Magic Have Talked Shumpert-Redick Trade

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Those Iman Shumpert trade reports just won't go away.

The Knicks and Magic "have discussed" a potential trade that would send New York's defensive whiz to Orlando for guard J.J. Redick, Alex Kennedy of USA Today-owned HOOPSWORLD reported via Twitter.

"Other players (and maybe a third team) would have to be involved," Kennedy tweeted, adding that a swap isn't imminent.

"It's something to keep an eye on," wrote Kennedy. "Redick helps NY win now, Shumpert gives ORL another young piece."

Shumpert has been the focus of trade speculation with the NBA's Feb. 21 deadline approaching quickly.

On Monday, Shumpert's agent, Happy Walters, disputed a report from Chris Sheridan of Sheridanhoops.com, which stated the 22-year-old was unhappy with his role and may be pushing for a trade.

"For the record, no one has requested an Iman trade from the Knicks. The report from Chris Sheridan is incorrect," Walters tweeted. "@sheridanhoops needs to check facts before reporting. As Iman's agent, you would think I would get a call fact checking a report. Really?"

Walters also said Shumpert's reported unhappiness with the Knicks was "Totally false."
