NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Four months after Hurricane Sandy, many people who were hit hard are just starting to get their lives in order.

One of them is 32-year-old Jackie Carrella. All of her belongings were under seven feet of water when Sandy stormed ashore.

But what was especially traumatic for Jackie was nearly losing her elderly parents.

Jackie was in the midst of a job hunt when all this happened and she had to abandon that until now.
