Mayor Bloomberg Unveils NYC's First Green Food Truck

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Mayor Michael Bloomberg and T. Boone Pickens took to City Hall Park on Thursday to unveil the Neapolitan Express, the first ever food truck completely powered by compressed natural gas.

"The truck produces almost three quarters less in greenhouse gas emissions than trucks that run on gasoline or diesel and that also reduces fuel costs by about 60 percent," Bloomberg said.

"Get off the OPEC oil and get on the mayor's plan," said Pickens, the oil man turned natural gas promoter.

The truck sells pizza and most ingredients in pie came from Italy. It's cooked for 90 seconds at 900 degrees.

With his mouthful, the mayor proclaimed, "Mmm. This is good pizza." He has another bite just to make sure.

"It's good pizza. I had one," Pickens said.
