NYPD Patrol Car Hits, Kills Pedestrian In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police say a pedestrian was hit and killed by a patrol car early Thursday morning while an officer was responding to a 911 call in Queens.

It happened around 12:45 a.m. Thursday. An NYPD patrol car was going east on 40th Avenue when it hit a man crossing 40th Avenue mid-block between 10th and 11th streets, police said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
