Long Island 12-Year-Old Accused Of Penning Hit List

GLEN COVE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Police on Long Island say a 12-year-old created a hit list with dozens of names on it.

Glen Cove police said they don't believe the student had any intent to make good on a list he created of some 40 fellow students, school faculty, and family members.

The student has been suspended from Finley Middle School pending the outcome of a hearing.

Parents, meantime, are troubled by it all and they'd like some answers.

"Really analyze it and come with a solution. There should be a solution," one told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs. "It's a different society out there today."

So far, the student hasn't been charged. Police said he has no history of violence.

The investigation continues.
