NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — An NYPD sergeant was arrested in Queens this week and charged with assault, following a domestic incident with his girlfriend.
At 2 p.m. Friday, officers arrested Sgt. Christopher Viola, 34, in the 115th Precinct – which includes parts of the East Elmhurst, North Corona and Jackson Heights sections of Queens.
Viola was charged with third-degree assault, police said. He was involved in a domestic squabble with his girlfriend, police told 1010 WINS.
The NYPD Police Band Web site indicates that Viola plays French horn in the brass band.
