Police Search For Suspect In Bed-Stuy Sex Assault

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police Wednesday evening were asking for the public's help in the search for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

The sexual assault happened around 6:30 a.m. Sunday near Decatur Street and Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn, police said.

The man walked up to the 23-year-old woman, grabbed her by the neck, robbed her, and sexually assaulted her, police said.

No further details were provided.

The suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 26, standing 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin mustache. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket and blue sneakers, police said.

Police have issued as sketch of the suspect.
