Relax In 5 Minutes Or Less

NEW YORK (WLNY) — Want to relax — but can’t find the time?

Five minutes is all it takes.

Derek Flanzraich, founder of new website Greatist.com, joined us on The Couch to share his tips to unwind. It’s easier than you think.

Brew some coffee. You don’t even have to drink it. Just smelling coffee can alleviate anxiety.

Slurp some honey. Eating just just one tablespoon of honey can help reduce inflammation in the brain — fighting anxiety and depression.

Rub a golf balls under your foot.  By placing a golf ball under your foot and rolling it back and forth, you’ll release muscle tension and acts as an impromptu massage.

Sprinkle cool water on your wrist or back of your ear lobes. Blood vessels near the skin aat these places, so by cooling that down, you cool the rest of the circulatory system.

Brush your hair. Repetitive motions relax the body.
