Man Struck, Critically Injured In Bronx Hit-And-Run
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was struck and critically injured Saturday in a hit-and-run accident the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx.
Around 5:25 a.m., police found the 61-year-old man at Grand Concourse and Field Place, lying in the street with severe body trauma.
The man was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
The man had been trying to cross Grand Concourse eastbound against the walk light, but within a marked crosswalk. A vehicle headed south on Grand Concourse struck the man, and the driver sped off.
Police had not located the vehicle or the driver, and had no description of either, as of late Saturday afternoon.
