The praise for Mariano Rivera is universal. He is simply the greatest ever.
On Friday morning in Jupiter, Fla., I had a chance to reminisce for a few minutes with former Yankee Tino Martinez, who is now the hitting coach of the Florida Marlins.
Martinez shared his memories of Rivera, beginning with his experience of facing Rivera as a member of the Seattle Mariners in the 1995 America League Division Series.
It will be a yearlong celebration of Rivera. He will make his official announcement about his future on Saturday morning in Tampa.
