NEW YORK (WLNY) – Mo Rocca’s show on the Cooking Channel, “My Grandmother’s Ravioli,” is a big hit — and it’s coming back for a second season.
Mo goes and begs grandparents to spill family secrets – and recipes – while having fun with it.
Now the show’s star — also a CBS Sunday Morning correspondent — has a big problem. He needs more grandparents. To answer his casting call, click here.
So what was Rocca’s inspiration for the creative show?
“My grandmother was a fantastic cook, she made these gargantuan Sunday meals, and her ravioli was amazing,” Rocca said. “If I had a time machine, I would go back 30 years and show up at her apartment, at least half an hour early, and help her and learn something.”
The regret (or guilt, as Rocca called it) inspired him to do the show.
“She just put her heart and her soul into cooking, and I’mm doing the next best thing to learning from her, I’m learning from everyone else’s grandparents.”
