Police: Knife-Wielding Suspect Shot Dead By Cops In Red Hook, Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Another police-involved shooting took place in Brooklyn on Friday night.

The incident happened at around 8 p.m. in the Red Hook section near the 500 block of Court Street.

The suspect was accused of stabbing his roommate in the shoulder. The roommate escaped the apartment and called 911, police said.

When police arrived at the scene, officers said the suspect lunged at them with the knife and they opened fire.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

One officer was taken to the hospital to be treated for ringing in the ears from the gun shots.
