Police: Man Found Burned In Queens Fire Also Shot
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police said a man whose body was found by firefighters while putting out a blaze at a home in Queens had been shot.
The victim was identified Monday as 35-year-old James Minor of Poughkeepsie.
Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, police and firefighters responded to a fire at a 2-story home on 146th Street in Jamaica. Minor's body was found in the basement, police said.
Police said spent bullets and an accelerant were discovered at the home. The medical examiner found a bullet wound in the man's back, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
