Police: Four Men Arrested For Smoking Pot In N.J. State Trooper Parking Lot

TOTOWA, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - Four New Jersey men are under arrest after being caught smoking marijuana in the parking lot of the Totowa Barracks.

Trooper Erik Tapia was about to start his patrol Tuesday night when he pulled his police car up to his personal car in the Totowa Barracks parking lot, New Jersey State Police said. That's when he smelled the strong odor of marijuana, police said.

A few cars away, he found three men in a car with several small bags of pot, according to police.

The trio were waiting for a fourth man, who was in the station to pick up paperwork for an impounded car.

Upon searching the car, police said they found 15 small bags of pot and more than a dozen suspected ecstasy pills.

Police identified the four as Tamer Abdelrahim, Isaias Parrilla, Hensly Nunez and Bernardo Cuevas. Cuevas was transferred to Paterson Police and Parrilla to Totowa Police due to outstanding warrants.

They all face drug charges.
