FDNY Truck Crash Leaves 11 Injured In Harlem

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Six firefighters and five others were injured Sunday afternoon, when an FDNY ladder truck headed to a fire was involved in an accident in Harlem.

The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. at 115th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, officials told WCBS 880.

A ladder truck heading to a fire at an unspecified location was involved in a crash with a car, authorities said. Details of the crash were not available Sunday night.

One firefighter was reported in fair-to-serious condition and five others were reported in good condition, fire officials said. Two civilians were also reported in fair-to-serious condition, and three were reported in good condition.

Earlier reports had indicated that seven firefighters were injured.

The injured people were taken to two area hospitals, 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported.

Other crews responding to the fire alarm for which the truck was originally called put the kitchen blaze out.
