Police Searching For Suspect Who Stole Watch Worth Over $4,000

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Police are searching for a suspect wanted for allegedly stealing a watch from a Midtown jewelry store on Saturday.

According to police, the suspect went into the Tourneau Watch store, 12 E. 57th St., just before 3 p.m. on Saturday. He allegedly asked the salesperson to see a Cartier Ballon Bleu watch.

The suspect tried on the pricey watch and then ran out of the store, police said. He was seen running eastbound onto East 56th Street toward Park Avenue, according to police.

The Ballon Bleu watch comes in a number of styles, but start at a price of $4,350, according to the Cartier website.

No one was injured in the incident.
