Man Dies After Falling On Broken Bottle In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man died early Saturday after severely cutting his arm on a glass bottle in Brooklyn.

Just before 4 a.m., police came to 1062 Flatbush Ave. in the Flatbush-Ditmas Park section of Brooklyn, amid reports that a man had been stabbed.

They found the man, who was in his 20s, bleeding severely at the scene. He was pronounced dead at 4:30 a.m. on the scene, police said.

Police said the man – identified in a New York Post report as Miguel Jimenez – had fallen onto a glass bottle and thus cut his arm.

The newspaper reported Jimenez and another man he knew had been ejected from La Cabana Rodriguez restaurant at the Flatbush Avenue address after a fight over the check. They got into a fight outside, and Jimenez initially pulled a machete before they decided to go with a fist fight instead, the newspaper reported.

Jimenez ended up falling on the sidewalk and cut open his right biceps on the glass, the newspaper reported.
