Michigan's McGary Plans To Wake Up Today And 'Get Back At It'

ATLANTA (97.1 The Ticket) "Everybody's down a little," an obviously emotional Mitch McGary said in the locker room after Michigan's NCAA championship loss to Louisville.

McGary, whose high-flying play earned praise from the Fab Five's Jalen Rose, among many others, said his only plan for Tuesday was to "wake up and get back at it."

But he sidestepped one big question -- Will he return to Michigan next season?

"I don't really know," McGary said. "I'm not going to answer that question right now."

Discussing Michigan's special season led by a roster of young players, McGary said the loss at the end doesn't shade the whole year, saying, "Just to go through the season and make it this far, to fight through that adversity, is just a tremendous accomplishment for this team."

He added the coaches told players after the game to keep their heads high. "A lot of the coaches, players said they wish they could have been part of this, going off that, that's something special when people like Cazzi Russell, the Fab Five are saying that and wishing they could have been part of this," McGary said.
