7 Injured In Fire In Astoria, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Seven people were injured late Sunday afternoon when a fire broke out in an Astoria, Queens apartment building.

The fire was reported shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday in the four-story building at 31-64 34th St. in Queens, the FDNY told 1010 WINS.

One person in the building was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with serious injuries, while three others suffered minor injuries, officials said. Three firefighters also suffered minor injuries.

The fire might have started in the basement, officials said. Information about a possible cause was not available Sunday evening.
