Falling Tree Limb Leaves Man Dead At Alpine, N.J. Golf Course

ALPINE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A man was killed Sunday after a freak accident involving a tree limb at a golf course in Alpine, N.J.

The 60-year-old golfer was killed when the tree limb fell at the Montammy Golf Club, Alpine police told CBS 2.

The man hit a ball into an area where crews had just stopped work cutting down a tree, police said.

The victim went to retrieve the ball, and the tree fell down on its own soon afterward, police said.

The golfer was later pronounced dead at Englewood Medical Center. He was identified in published reports as Sung K. Paik, of Union City, N.J.
