NEW YORK (WLNY) — ‘The Sonnet Project’ is a new arts venture that will produce short films of every one of Shakespeare’s sonnets, with the works being read from somewhere in the Big Apple.
The year-long project was created by The Shakespeare Exchange, a New York City-based group.
Actor Michael Urie joined us to read Sonnet 18 and to discuss his role int he project.
“Shakespeare really understood modern psychology, long before Freud…before psychology,” Urie said. “He understood the way we love, and the way we fight. Once you tap into that, it’s like an onion — there’s so many layers to Shakespeare.”
You can learn more about it on his Kickstarter page.
