NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Kevin Youkilis has joined Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira and Curtis Granderson on the New York Yankees’ disabled list.
Infielder Corban Joseph, who has never played in the major leagues, was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The 34-year-old Youkilis is hitting .286 with two homers and seven RBIs in 17 games. He has played just once since April 20, going 0 for 3 Saturday.
Youkilis missed 40 games last season. He played in just 120 and 102 games in 2011 and 2010, respectively. The three-time All-Star has never played 150 games in a season in his 10-year career.
