NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Two men have been charged in the shooting death of a Bronx teenager.
Raul Pacheco, 21 and Eric Landron, 23, were arrested Saturday in the death of 17-year-old Alphonza Bryant III, police said.
Bryant was shot and killed April 22 in the South Bronx. He was standing outside on Fox Street with his friends when police said the suspects walked by across the street. A short time later, the suspects returned to the scene and started shooting, police said.
Bryant was found lying on the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from a gang dispute, but that Bryant was not the intended target.
Pacheco and Landron are both charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a loaded firearm, police said.
