Boy, 5, Rescued From Bronx River

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 5-year-old boy was rescued from the Bronx River Sunday.

The boy was rescued early Sunday evening from the river near 216th Street, according to the FDNY.

It was not immediately learned how the boy got in the water. Reports that a civilian jumped in to rescue him were not immediately confirmed.

The boy was taken to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition.
