NJ Mall Security Guard Accused Of Making Threat Against Children's Play Area

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A security guard at a New Jersey mall has been accused of threatening to bomb a children's play area at the shopping center.

Brian Ruzich, 21, allegedly scrawled a bomb threat against Tiny Town on a bathroom wall in Woodbridge Center Mall, 1010 WINS' Steve Sandberg reported.

"It's disturbing when you have an individual who is tasked with public safety doing something like this," Woodbridge Police Director Robert Hubner said.

Ruzich has been charged with making false public alarms, terroristic threats and criminal mischief, The Star-Ledger reported.

A mall spokesperson said Ruzich was recently hired by an outside security firm and passed a background check, Sandberg reported.

No injuries were reported.
