Upper West Side Couple Whose 2 Children Were Murdered Announce They're Pregnant

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A family that has dealt with darkness and unspeakable horror has announced their new ray of hope.

Marina and Kevin Krim, whose two young children were stabbed to death allegedly by their nanny, announced via Facebook that they are expecting a baby boy. Their third child was not in the apartment at the time of last fall's murders and was unharmed.

"Nessie can't wait to welcome her new baby brother. We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope," Marina and Kevin Krim wrote on the Lulu & Leo Fund Facebook page.

In October, their 6-year-old daughter, Lulu, and 2-year-old son, Leo, were found dead in their luxury Upper West Side apartment.

Marina Krim returned home from a swim lesson with her 3-year-old daughter, Nessie, to find the children in a bath tub.

Nanny Yoselyn Ortega, 50, has been charged with the children's murder.

The Lulu & Leo Fund was established in their children's memories, raising money for children's education and enrichment programs.
