WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (AP) – State police say a woman was killed and two other people were hospitalized after the car they were in crashed on the Garden State Parkway.
But it’s not clear what caused the accident, which occurred early Sunday near milemarker 131.1 in Woodbridge Township.
Gail Webster, a 21-year-old Passaic resident who was sitting in the back seat, was taken to a hospital but died there a short time later.
The driver, 23-year-old Savion Clark of Paterson, and 20-year-old Jashonna Harris of Passaic, a front-seat passenger, were both hurt in the crash. But further details on their injuries were not disclosed.
State police say Clark lost control of the southbound vehicle, which crossed over the center median and entered the northbound side of the highway, where it struck an overpass.
