Police: Suspect Sought In Shooting Death Of Queens Teen

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are trying to find a suspect who they say is wanted for killing a Queens teenager on a city bus.

Kevin McClinton, 21, is wanted in connection with the death of 14-year-old Daja Robinson, police said.

Robinson was riding a Q6 bus in South Jamaica earlier this month when police said a gunman fired at least nine shots from the street. Robinson was struck in the right temple and pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related, but said Robinson was not connected to any gang activity. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said it appears Robinson was an innocent victim of the gunfire.

"One thing is clear — she was not, in our judgment, the target of the shooting," he said. "Terrible, this is, as I say, another senseless shooting."

Police said McClinton is 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has dread locks.
