Authorities: Two Face Charges In Connection With Violent Nassau County Attack

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Two people are attempting serious charges in connection with an alleged February assault in Nassau County.

Erick Pelaez, 27, of North Lawrence  and Sergio Acosta, 18, of Inwood have been charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree gang assault, and fourth degree weapons charges stemming from an incident that occurred early on the morning of February 24, police said.

The victim was walking home on Clinton Avenue in Inwood when three men allegedly dragged him behind a building and stabbed him multiple times, police said.

Police arrested Pelaez on May 4, he was arraigned on May 5. It took authorities until Friday to track down Acosta, he is awaiting arraignment at the First District Court in Hempstead. Authorities are still looking for the third suspect.
