NEW YORK (WLNY) — Many cat owners will tell you their best friend chose them — not the other way around.
Some of those pets found their loving home after being rescued by a shelter . Now, actress and entrepreneur Brooke Burke is helping launch a program aimed at helping cat shelters across the country.
The mother of four joined The Couch on Wednesday to explain why this cause is so near and dear to her heart.
Burke is teaming up with the 50 Years, 50 Shelters program. To mark its 50 years of feeding great relationships between cats and their owners, the program by Purina Cat Chow will support 50 cat-focused shelters nationwide – one in every state – and donate up to $200,000 in product and monetary donations to acknowledge these shelters’ dedication to the cats they serve.
The program also hopes to help facilitate the start of more cat-owner relationships.
