TRAVERSE CITY – In 2010, friends and admirers of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore helped win the park the title of “Most Beautiful Place in America” on Good Morning America. Now they can help it become the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”
The Traverse City Convention & Visitors Bureau has nominated Sleeping Bear in an international competition organized by VirtualTourist.com, a travel research website and social media community owned by TripAdvisor Media Group.

Nearly 300 world destinations are competing for the title, and fans of each place can vote on line from now until Sept. 30.

To vote, click HERE and find the listing for Sleeping Bear Dunes. Visitors to the site can vote once every 24 hours.

The destination with the most votes will be featured in a national television broadcast on “Extra,” a syndicated program with more than 2.6 million daily viewers, and receive major publicity attention from Virtual Tourist and other members of the TripAdvisor Group.
